To help meet customer demands for operational flexibility, ArvinMeritor, Inc. recently introduced its new global hub reduction axle family of single and tandem rear axles for the heavy-haul, construction, refuse, logging, concrete, mining and vocational markets.

Western Star offers style updates, product upgrades

Western Star Trucks showcased style updates and product upgrades for vocational applications at the 2007 Mid-America Trucking Show.  Western Star introduced new exterior badging for both the grille bezel and the side of the hood. The grille-mounted black ‘W’ with its burgundy star now features a three-dimensional appearance and a crowned star, providing for a jeweled appearance, the company said. Also, the side-mounted Western Star script has been updated with a modern font and beveled edges for a cleaner look and richer reflection.

Peterbilt facilities in full production

Peterbilt Motors Co. announced during the 2007 Mid-America Trucking Show that both Peterbilt heavy-duty truck manufacturing facilities and the PACCAR facility that assembles Peterbilt’s medium-duty vehicles are in full production with the company’s new product lineup of 2008 models.

Volvo’s VEST standard on highway tractors

The Volvo VHD vocational truck now has Volvo Enhanced Stability Technology (VEST) as standard equipment on all concrete mixers. VEST also is standard equipment across Volvo’s entire range of highway tractors in North America: the Volvo VN and Volvo VT.

Hendrickson offers new QUAANTUM FX trailer suspension system

Hendrickson said it took the next step in suspension system integration with the introduction of QUAANTUM FX complete with HNP or HUS long-life wheel ends.  Featuring hubcap-to-hubcap, limited warranties of five and seven years, the new QUAANTUM FX for vocational trailer applications melds suspension components including extended-service brakes and wheel ends, air springs and shock absorbers, to work as part of a cohesive, long-life unit.

Mack Introduces TerraPro Cabover

Mack Trucks Inc. introduced the TerraPro Cabover model, which is an evolution of the company’s MR model. It is optimized for refuse and construction applications, including concrete pumping.  It combines ruggedness with a new driver environment designed to maximize comfort and productivity, the company said.

Cat engines certified by EPA

Caterpillar Inc. received certification from the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its C13 and C15 engines equipped with ACERT Technology for 2007.

Truck-Lite offers LED Super Strip-Lite

Truck-Lite Co. Inc. said it introduced a new concept in interior trailer and truck lighting. The patent-pending LED Super Strip-Lite, now available with a replaceable lens, uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) evenly spaced on a fabricated aluminum channel.
