Isuzu announces advanced telematics in N-series trucks

Fleet Director, the state-of-the-art telematics system from Teletrac Inc., will be offered as an option in the truck maker’s 2011 and 2012 model year N-Series trucks. The product is a fully integrated, web-based solution that allows fleet managers and dispatchers to track vehicle usage in real time by sending detailed vehicle and driver performance reports.

Spartan Motor to assemble Isuzu N-Series gasoline trucks

Production of gasoline-powered Isuzu N-Series trucks will begin April 18 at the Spartan Motors facility in Charlotte, Mich. N-Gas models will be powered by a General Motors Vortec 6.0-liter V8 engine that produces 297 HP at 4,300 rpm and generates 372 ft./lbs. of torque at 4,000 RPM.

New commercial van from Isuzu Commercial Truck, Utilimaster

Isuzu Commercial Truck of America and Utilimaster have teamed up to introduce a new commercial van. The van, with full production scheduled for the second half of 2011, will combine the functionality and design flexibility of a custom-built work truck with the styling and ergonomics of a cargo van, the companies said.

Isuzu to resume production of gas-powered trucks

The new Isuzu gas trucks will feature a six-speed automatic transmission that will be standard on the 2012 model year.
