Southeastern Freight Lines announced the opening of a relocated service center in Austin, Texas. The company says that the new center, located at 10001 E US Hwy 290, consists of 120 dock doors and 57 associates, as well as a refreshed appointment warehouse, larger office and break room spaces and a fuel island for drivers. Previously located at 1916 Waukesha Drive, the Austin service center opened for business in May 2000.
The eM2 is built on the Freightliner M2 106 Plus platform and features a battery electric Detroit ePowertrain.
Daimler Truck North America has commenced series production of the Freightliner eM2, a battery electric medium-duty truck designed for pick-up and delivery applications. These vehicles are being manufactured at DTNA’s truck manufacturing plant in Portland, Oregon.
The first production units in the U.S. will be delivered to Ferguson, Hogan Truck Leasing, Inc., Penske Truck Leasing, PITT OHIO, Ryder System, Inc., TITAN Freight Systems and Velocity Truck Rental & Leasing. In Canada, the first units will go to Brossard Leasing and Day & Ross.
Shyft’s Blue Arc EV will start customer deliveries in 2024 in Charlotte, Michigan.
An additional 150 units are planned for delivery to Randy Marion prior to end of 2023.
Orders for these trucks are open now, and deliveries will commence in Q4 of this year. But this was the first opportunity offered to drive the MD Electric, this time on California’s Sonoma Raceway.
