Fumoto introduces engine oil drain valve

Fumoto Engineering of America has introduced the Fumoto Valve, which the company described as a quick-release brass ball valve that replaces a standard crankcase oil drain plug. By installing this valve, engine oil can be drained without tools and without mess, the company said. Just lift the lever from its locked position and give it a quarter turn to open it.

Racor provides replacement elements for Blue Bird air cleaners

The Racor Division of Parker Hannifin Corp. has announced the ECO series replacement element 80097001 for Blue Bird conventional style buses manufactured before mid-2005.

With its updated design, the manufacturer said the Racor replacement for Blue Bird’s Cooper air cleaner offers superior and reliable performance. The high efficiency replacement element features tool-less installation and superior media that keeps the dirt out and exceeds OEM performance specifications, the maker added.

Horton, Hub City introduce mechanically driven fan drive

Horton Inc., in conjunction with Hub City Inc., has introduced a mechanically driven variable-speed fan drive system with gearbox for more efficient cooling of rear-engine buses, motor coaches and other vehicles with side-mounted cooling modules. The system includes the Horton VMaster or Stratis viscous fan drive, WindMaster or WindShift fan, Di Controller and Hub City right-angle gearbox.

The system can be easily retrofitted to replace hydraulic and other mechanical systems, the companies said. They added that this variable-speed fan drive system offers advantages over hydraulic systems that include increased safety (no risk of hydraulic-fluid leaks), increased overall system efficiency, lower operating costs and reduced system complexity.

Horton introduces Arctis two-speed fan drives

Horton Inc. has introduced Arctis two-speed fan drives for medium-duty trucks, buses, severe-service vehicles, rear-engine cement mixers and other on- and off-highway equipment with little to no ram air.

The company said the Arctis line provides the highest torque available from Horton: 2,700 in.-lbs. (305 N-m) in its two-speed technology.

Horton introduces WindShift modular fans

Horton has introduced WindShift modular fans for the off-highway, industrial and other specialty markets. According to Horton, this line of fans provides versatility in design and manufacturing for a myriad of applications and optimal fan drive cooling. The modular fans have clamshell knuckles that clamp the blades at precise pitch angles. According to the company, this feature offers flexibility for customers’ specifications and speeds the testing and prototyping stages. If testing shows that a different pitch angle or blade configuration provides more optimized cooling for a specific application, the knuckle clamp feature allows easy modification of the fan design.
