Navistar International Corp. announced it is shipping to customers its first 300 International ProStar+ Class 8 on-highway tractors equipped with the Cummins ISX15, five days ahead of schedule.

Mack, Volvo receive Greenhouse Gas Certificates

Mack Trucks’ full lineup of model year 2014 trucks and tractors is now certified by the U.S. EPA and NHTSA in accordance with 2014 fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas regulations. Volvo Trucks also announced its model year 2014 Volvo vehicles have been awarded certificates of conformance under the first-ever GHG regulations for heavy trucks.

GM unveils redesigned Chevy Silverado, GMC Sierra

General Motors has unveiled its much-anticipated 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and 2014 GMC Sierra 1500, which the company said represent its first truck redesigns in 7 years. The trucks will be displayed to the public at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January.

Kenworth adds PeopleNet pre-wire option for some Class 8 models

Kenworth said it has added a PeopleNet pre-wire option for the Kenworth Class 8 T660, T800 and W900. The pre-wire is compatible with all versions of the display units, and the new option also includes the harness, antenna and roof bracket.

Isuzu, Mobi Munch partner for the latest mobile dining options

Isuzu Commercial Truck of America Inc. announced that nine Isuzu NRR diesel cab chassis outfitted as food trucks by Mobi Munch Inc. have been placed into service on college campuses throughout the U.S. The Isuzu NRR is a 19,500-lb. GVWR low-cab-forward truck powered by Isuzu’s 4HK1-TC 5.2-liter diesel engine, which generates up to 215 HP.

Ryder’s NG fleet surpasses six million miles

Ryder said it has achieved a significant milestone with its fleet of 250 natural gas vehicles surpassing six million miles. The fleet consists of 35 LNG and 215 CNG tractors, currently running in 32 customer operations in California, Arizona and Michigan.

First International ProStar with Cummins ISX15 rolls off line

Navistar International Corp. announced that the first International ProStar+ Class 8 on-highway tractor equipped with the Cummins ISX15 and SCR-based Cummins Emission Solutions aftertreatment system rolled off the production line this week at the company’s plant in Escobedo, Mexico.

Kenworth adds next generation of PACCAR engines for 2013

Kenworth said it is enhancing its engine lineup for 2013 with the addition of the next generation of PACCAR proprietary engines: PACCAR MX-13, PACCAR PX-9 and PACCAR PX-7.

Ottawa gasoline-powered terminal tractor certified by CARB

Ottawa Trucks has received notice from the California Air Resources Board that its gasoline-powered model meets California emissions standards and has been approved for sale in that state. The terminal tractor is powered by a Ford 6.8L 3-valve V10 gasoline engine.
