Volvo Trucks expands support capabilities

Since January 2010, work capacity has increased at Volvo Trucks dealer locations throughout the Western region of the U.S., growing by nearly 15 percent.

Since January 2010, work capacity has increased at Volvo Trucks dealer locations throughout the Western region of the U.S., growing by nearly 15 percent. The expansion includes the addition of nearly 80 truck service bays, 135 Volvo-certified technicians and a nearly 22 percent increase in parts inventory. In addition, at the Volvo Trucks dealer network in Texas capacity has grown 32 percent with statewide dealer investments resulting in an increase of 170 truck service bays, 138 Volvo-certified technicians and a 39% expansion of parts inventory.
Within the past year, Bruckner Truck Sales in Dallas expanded in the Dallas area with the addition of a new $5.7 million full-service dealership. The 12-acre facility has 20 bays staffed by 15 technicians, three of which are Volvo master technicians. The new location also houses more than $1 million in parts inventory in a 13,000-square-foot warehouse. In total, Bruckner’s two Dallas locations have 45 bays, 33 technicians, including eight master technicians, and more than $3 million in parts.
Sweeten Truck Center in Houston has undergone significant upgrades to increase service capacity. The recently remodeled dealership features 25 bays staffed by 18 service technicians, including four Volvo master technicians. Other upgrades include a new quick service shop with six bays, an expanded body shop and an additional $260,000 in parts inventory. Sweeten Truck Center will also remodel its driver lounge, shower and restroom, and laundry facilities and plans are in place to upgrade the service writer area and expand the parts showroom and new truck sales offices.
