Webb Wheel's LifeShield technology protects rotors from corrosion

Webb Wheel’s LifeShield technology protects rotors from corrosion

Webb Wheel disc brake rotors are now available with an added barrier against corrosion to extend rotor life and replacement intervals. Webb’s new LifeShield technology creates an invisible protective layer across the entire rotor surface to resist corrosion beyond what traditional coatings offer. Vehicle testing through an entire winter on roads treated with salt and other anti-icing compounds resulted in significantly less corrosion build up on rotors with the LifeShield protective barrier than standard treated rotors, according to the company. LifeShield is a unique heat treatment process that not only adds increased corrosion protection but also provides better wear resistance.

The combined benefit of more corrosion protection and greater wear resistance realized with LifeShield technology means longer rotor life resulting in lower maintenance and operating costs. Webb rotors, manufactured in the U.S., are available for popular medium and heavy duty disc brake applications.

Webb Wheel Products Inc., headquartered in Cullman, Ala., manufactures hubs, brake drums and rotors for medium- and heavy- duty trucks, trailers and buses.
