Michelin hits the streets with latest urban and regional tire

Michelin announced that its Agilis HD Z 19.5 tire will replace the Michelin XZE tire in the two current 19.5-in. sizes (225/70R19.5 LRG and 245/70R19.5 LRH). The tire manufacturer noted that the Agilis HD Z 19.5 will offer durability, mileage and wet traction for high-stress urban and regional commercial applications with improved rolling resistance compared to the XZE.

Featuring a customized, five-rib, zigzag tread that combines water evacuation with an aggressive pattern, the long-lasting tread life of the Agilis HD Z 19.5 tire helps drivers maintain confidence over the life of the tire, according to Michelin. The tire manufacturer noted several other features:

• Groove-bottom protectors to help deliver additional defense against stone drilling.

• Variable-pitch groove walls to help prevent stones from lodging in the tread, to extend casing life and improve retreadability.

• Full-width protector ply to help protect the working plies from bruising and penetrations, lowering downtime.

• Curb guards provide sidewall and shoulder protection.

The Agilis HD Z 19.5 tire launches in October 2022.
