Grote Industries expands 4SEE smart trailer system capabilities

A rear-view camera produced with Stoneridge tops the list of newly introduced features.

Grote Industries and Stoneridge Inc. showcased a new rear-view camera as a component of Grote’s 4SEE Smart Trailer System during the 2023 ATA Management Conference and Exhibition. The wired rear-view camera connects via the standard J560 seven-way connector, which Grote says allows for almost immediate video transmission from the trailer’s rear to the cab’s video display. Additionally, Grote extended the 4SEE system’s capabilities to include flatbed trailers, in addition to reefers and dry vans.

Grote’s 4SEE Smart Trailer System integrates trailer component and connects all modules on the trailer via the 4SEE Digital Harness, enabling all nodes to communicate on the harness system. The 4SEE nose box integrates all component data from the trailer, allowing it to be transmitted directly to the driver, cloud or third-party telematics provider.
