Rypos DPFs pass CARB compliance test

The CARB certification shows Rypos' active diesel particulate filters go beyond normal EPA emissions standards.

Rypos, a manufacturer of active diesel particulate filters (ADPFs), passed the in-use compliance emissions testing verification requirements set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). The in-use test is performed on a sample of fielded units selected by CARB to ensure the filters continue to reduce harmful emissions, promote cleaner air and align with CARB’s diesel emission control strategy.

Rypos says their ADPFs have been shown to remove up to 95% of black carbon soot emitted from diesel engines, which allows many older engines to achieve emissions compliance, extending their useful life. Additionally, Rypos advertises that the ADPFs are self cleaning, require no operator intervention and do not affect engine performance. CARB has now added Rypos’ HDPF/C series to the list of compliant solutions the company offers.

Paul Anderson, Rypos chief executive officer, emphasized the significance of in-use verification for customers. “Our in-use verification confirms to our customers that their Rypos filter will remain compliant to the end of life of their engine,” he said.

Anderson adds this achievement removes the risk that customers may have to replace ADPFs due to non compliance.
