Bendix air disc brakes on SAF-Holland Neway LSZ suspension

Bendix air disc brakes optional on SAF-Holland Neway LSZ suspension

SAF-Holland announced that Bendix ADB22X air disc brakes are now available as an option on the Neway LSZ Steerable Lift Axle Suspension System.

The ADB22X disc brake was selected as an option on the Neway LSZ because its unique two-pin floating caliper design results in fewer components, requiring less maintenance, according to SAF-Holland. With an optimized friction and rotor pairing that enables longer service life for both components, the brake minimizes the number of required maintenance inspections. In addition, changing the air disc brake pads on the ADB22X model takes less than half the time it typically takes to change drum linings, reducing downtime and labor costs.

“We are pleased to have Bendix as a supplier,” said Ron Froese, director of sales and marketing for SAF-Holland’s Powered Vehicle Systems division. “Their broadly accepted, advanced truck brake technology improves braking performance, requires less maintenance, and allows fleets to match all axles with the same brakes.”

According to a recent press release published by ACT Research, preliminary NA Class 8 net orders in December were 18,400 units, while NA Classes 5-7 net orders were 17,800 units.

“Given how robust Class 8 orders were into year-end, the relative pause in January is not surprising,” shared Eric Crawford, vice president and senior analyst, ACT Research. “We note that over the final four months of 2022, nearly 159,000 Class 8 net orders were placed, +92% y/y, and only 8% below those placed over the same period in 2020. January’s orders represent the first y/y decline in five months (August).”
