AC to DC: Charting charging equipment choices with ChargePoint

Charging infrastructure equipment choices are complicated. There’s AC charging, there’s DC charging and a host of other options depending on your electric vehicle charging strategy. Rich Mohr, global vice president, fleet solutions at ChargePoint, did a great job explaining the options for a recent story, but when it comes to trucking equipment, part of understanding it is being able to see it in person, run your hand across it and get a feel for the product. So when ACT Expo rolled around, I knew that Mohr was definitely someone I wanted to track down to show me the charging equipment choices.

I caught up with Mohr at the ChargePoint booth at last month’s ACT Expo and got a look at AC charging solutions and applications, scalable DC charging stations and came away with a much better understanding. Now you can do the same! Watch the video above.

Shedding light on heavy-duty lighting specs

It’s not the dark that you should be scared of. Instead, you should be scared of the dark with improper lighting specs.

In the world of fleet operations, the last mile operations can make or break the success of on-time delivery. It’s the last leg of the race and performance is paramount. And that's why proper lighting specs are crucial for last-mile success.

If you’re running a fleet with a low-quality lighting system or incorrect lighting specs, don’t be surprised if it seems more expensive to maintain. Along with the higher operational costs and additional maintenance expenses comes an increased risk to the safety of the driver, the vehicle, and of course, the public.
