Continental to expand tire production

Continental Truck Tires has announced plans to expand its truck and bus tire production facilities in the Czech Republic. Earlier this year, the company said it will invest $95 million in its North American truck and bus tire production facility and will bolster its investment in its largest European truck and bus tire production plant in Slovakia over the next few years.

“The expansion of our truck and bus tire manufacturing footprint is a strategic step,” said Dr. Andreas Esser, head of the Business Unit Commercial Vehicle Tires at Continental. “The plants will serve Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the Americas and Russia. While our Czech Republic plant project is mainly targeting mid-term growth in the evolving markets of Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, the investments are all a strategic step based on long-term market growth.”
