The CXI 2V-700 coolant extractor offers more complete control of fluid removal and installation when servicing diesel engines, said its manufacturer, DBT Inc.
Using shop air as its power source, the unit quick-couples to the vehicle’s cooling system.
By drawing a vacuum in the coolant extractor’s 18-gal. tank, the coolant can be extracted from the cooling system. Once the repair is complete, pressurize the tank and refill the system through the bottom.
With this process, coolant exposure is minimized and the fluid is safely contained, according to the manufacturer. Removal and installation times beat conventional methods by 70%, DBT said, so technicians can concentrate on more important aspects of vehicle maintenance.
