Power management company Eaton has named Gerard Devito vice president, technology of Eaton Vehicle Group, effective Nov. 1, 2014. DeVito will be based in Galesburg, Mich., and will report to Ken Davis, president of Eaton Vehicle Group, and functionally to Jeff Lowinger, senior vice president and chief technology officer, industrial sector.
In this role, DeVito will be responsible for leading and directing all engineering activities for the Eaton Vehicle Group to ensure that financial, growth, productivity and technology objectives are met.
“Gerard’s technical and engineering experience with Eaton will serve the Vehicle Group business well in his new role,” said Davis. “As we work to develop and commercialize new technologies to help our customers solve their most challenging issues, Gerard is ideally suited to lead the teams that will deliver our next generation of breakthrough technologies.”
DeVito began his career at Eaton 27 years ago, and most recently served as director of Next Generation Transmissions, North America Truck. Prior to that he was director of engineering for the hybrid business. He began his career with Eaton in engineering before moving into market development and regional sales positions.
DeVito holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Western Michigan University.
