How to grow your own truck technicians

How to grow your own truck technicians

The world at large might be crowing about the labor shortage, but in the trucking industry, it’s just another day. Be it drivers or diesel truck technicians, good help has been hard to find for as long as many of us can remember. Complaining about it isn’t going to fix it (though it is fun to do). So if you’re having trouble finding technicians, the next best option is to grow it. Or maybe it’s the first best option.

That’s the impression I got talking with Dave Bloom, owner, Pine Aire Truck Service, and Chris Scully, director, Drive University. Bloom recently penned a story for us that provided fantastic advice for becoming the truck shop leader you want to be, but I needed to know more. A big takeaway from Bloom’s story was that a leader needs to empower others to lead–but how do you do that? Bloom and Scully provided outstanding advice and perspective in how to grow your own technicians in the video above. Don’t miss it.
