Link Manufacturing Ltd. introduced an improved compact Integrated Electronic Air Kit for its UltraRide chassis air suspension system.
The UltraRide is designed to improve the ride and handling of light- and medium-duty work trucks, buses and emergency service vehicles, according to Link. The newly introduced small air kit’s footprint – less than 2-ft. of frame space – provides the fastest ride-height recovery in the industry and offers up to 150-PSI output, yet has a noise level similar to normal conversation, according to the manufacturer.
The new electronic air kit offers several key new features for added operational convenience, starting with diagnostics. The user-friendly diagnostic software helps assess and inform of any problems, the company said. Added blink codes to the warning lights enable diagnosis of error and fault codes, and the integrated diagnostics communications connects via USB.
Additionally, the air kit allows two modes of operation. The ambulance mode includes a system enable signal that prevents the suspension from kneeling when the vehicle is in gear. The tower-hauler mode ignores the system enable signal and allows the vehicle to kneel even if the vehicle is moving.
The new Electronic Air Kit will mount in same location but includes improved frame mounting brackets for easier installation, the company said. The air kit will be available beginning April 1.
