Qualcomm Inc. has released the latest edition of its Trailer Tracks 210 (TT210), which provides timely information about the location and status of trailers for more efficient planning, enhanced productivity and improved security. TT210 now includes an embedded solar charging system, utilizing the latest technology to preserve equipment up-time and battery life, while the one-piece hardware configuration allows for easy installation, the maker said.
According to the company, accessible for private and for-hire fleets of all sizes, TT210 is a stand-alone trailer tracking platform that monitors both tethered and untethered trailers independent of truck-based mobile systems. The platform automatically reports the location and status of the trailers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Qualcomm added the platform ensures fleets get valuable connect, disconnect and geofence information in the most accurate, cost-efficient and timely manner. TT210’s compact one-piece terminal is easy to install and integrates seamlessly with Qualcomm’s MCP100, MCP110, MCP200 and legacy mobile fleet management solutions, the maker added.
The TT210 offers drivers robust features, including onboard geofencing and frequent and detailed reporting on trailer connects and disconnects when leveraging connectivity with Qualcomm’s in-cab unit.
“To be profitable, fleet managers must ensure all resources are being used to maximum capacity and they can’t do that if they lack real-time insight where trailers are located, which ones are in-use and loaded versus empty,” said Norm Ellis, vice president of sales, services and marketing for Qualcomm Enterprise Services. “We listened to this customer feedback and designed the TT210 with improved capabilities to offer users critical, up-to-date information, using our proprietary onboard geofencing and advanced connect and disconnect technologies. In addition, to further improve power management and simplify unit installations, we embedded our solar charging system into the platform.”
