CMA has added a number of new Double Coin tires to its product portfolio, and has launched a new government fleet net pricing program, the company announced.

STEMCO introduces AirBAT RF – Severe Duty

STEMCO recently introduced the AirBAT SD (Severe Duty) tire pressure monitoring sensor, a new addition to the BAT RF family of technology products. The AirBAT SD is designed for demanding applications such as transit and refuse hauling where high temperatures are produced by the stop and go nature of the applications. All of the new product’s components have been designed and field-tested for operating environments where temperatures may exceed 300° F, the maker said.

Toyo Tires introduces new M647 premium drive tire

Toyo Tires has introduced the M647 premium drive tire, designed for local, regional and long haul highway applications. The newest tire has a deep, 30/32-in. tread that the maker said provides improved wear and long service life.

New generation of regional truck tires now available from Goodyear

Goodyear has announced the availability of two new regional tires that offer deeper tread depth, enhanced tread designs and compounds to maximize tire life in urban and regional driving conditions, according to the company. The two tires address the needs of multiple applications from city delivery to beverage to emergency vehicles and buses – plus longer regional runs.

Continental introduces HTL Eco Plus trailer tire

Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has unveiled its next generation of truck trailer tire, the HTL Eco Plus. Trailer tires contribute 42% of the rolling resistance of all the tires on a typical long haul truck, CTNA said. That’s why the company’s engineers were intent upon making the HTL Eco Plus (Heavy Trailer Long-Haul) one of the most fuel-efficient trailer tires possible. CTNA said this new tire improves fuel economy by 10%.

Continental introduces new long mileage HDL2 DL drive tire

Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has released its newest over-the-highway long haul drive tire, the HDL2 DL (Heavy Drive Long-Haul Deep Lug). This tire meets today’s long-haul truck driver’s needs for maximum removal mileage while offering attractive wear characteristics, said Clif Armstrong, director of marketing for CTNA – The Americas. The tire is produced in Continental’s Mount Vernon, Ill. plant and features its deepest truck tire tread offering at 32/32-in. depth.

New Doran 360HD Tire Pressure Monitoring System withstands excessive heat

The new Doran 360HD wireless tire pressure sensors are able to withstand temperatures up to 257 degrees F that can occur in trucks tasked with heavy loads and stop-and-go driving, their maker said. The ability to withstand such severe heat stress allows the valve-stem mounted sensors to continuously take tire pressure readings and transmit them to the in-cab display monitor. With at-a-glance status updates including a new patent-pending Green Means GOOD indicator, the Doran 360HD is suitable for fleets which must endure the rigors of frequent stops and starts – like refuse vehicles, recycling trucks, delivery fleets, and more.

Continental introduces five new truck tires

Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) recently unveiled its next generation of new truck tires. The all-new entrants to Continental’s tire line-up include the latest technology designed to improve fuel efficiency and extend tire mileage, the company related. “Continental is offering truck fleets outstanding new products that meet their needs; from steer tires, to drive tires, to trailer tires,” said Clif Armstrong, commercial vehicle tire marketing director for Continental Tire – The Americas. ”We listened to our customers and used their feedback to create tires that maximize the efficiency of their operations and offer them the lowest overall driving costs.”

GITI introduces GT876 wide base radial

GITI Tire USA has introduced the GT876. Designed for heavy front axles, this wide base – all position radial tire provides service in on/off highway and heavy haul applications, its maker said.

Alcoa Introduces the LvL ONE

Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products (AWTP) unveiled a significant new advancement in forged wheel technology, the LvL ONE wheel at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) this week. Using a new, proprietary process, Alcoa said it has created the industry’s lightest forged aluminum wheel by reducing the weight by two lbs. but with even greater strength, and with a superior finish on both sides of the wheel.

Toyo Tires rolls out two new sizes of M154 for commercial trucks

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has rolled out two new sizes of its Toyo M154 ultra-premium, regional highway commercial tire. The two new sizes are 265/75R22.5 and 245/75R22.5, both in load range G.

IMI offers new alternative to lead weights

International Marketing Inc. (IMI) offers a variety of alternatives to lead weights that deliver superior performance while eliminating the use of harmful materials, the company said. Since 1989, IMI has offered EQUAL, an internal balancing compound and a vibration reduction alternative to lead weights for heavy-duty trucks. In instances when an internal balancing compound cannot be deployed, IMI’s newly introduced XACTBalance-180s deliver a better ride and fuel economy benefit, the company said.
