STEMCO recently introduced the AirBAT SD (Severe Duty) tire pressure monitoring sensor, a new addition to the BAT RF family of technology products. The AirBAT SD is designed for demanding applications such as transit and refuse hauling where high temperatures are produced by the stop and go nature of the applications. All of the new product’s components have been designed and field-tested for operating environments where temperatures may exceed 300° F, the maker said. The tire pressure monitoring sensors offer a visual indication of low tire conditions, are configurable to various low-pressure thresholds, and can be retrofitted to existing vehicles within ten minutes.
AirBAT SD provides a visual indicator on the wheel end that identifies under-inflated tires. The device can also be used in conjunction with various other wireless BatRF products such as the AirBAT RF DAS (Driver Alert System), a handheld reader, an automated gate reader, or an integration model that interfaces with satellite base information systems. All communications modes can utilize the WebBAT maintenance software that gives maintenance professionals the information needed to properly control their assets and costs, STEMCO added.
