To address the issue of incorrect tire pressures, Tyre Safety Europe has introduced the LED Pressure Alarm.
This LED Pressure Alarm is unique for several reasons. The Visual Version is easily installed on the tire valve. At a pressure loss of 7 PSI, the light will blink alerting the driver. With the Radio Visual Version, an alarm is activated on the dashboard. Installation on a tractor trailer takes less than 20 minutes, according to the company. Both the Visual and Radio Visual systems are automatically calibrated when installed on a tire whose pressure is correct and automatically take in to account any variation in temperature.
After checking the tire pressure either version can be installed utilizing the anti-theft key. The Radio Visual receivers are mounted on both the tractor and the trailer. The receiver on the tractor will automatically recognize the system on the trailer, so all tires are protected. The dashboard display notifies the driver when a tire has lost air, and he or she can easily locate which tire it is because that LED cap will be blinking. Integration with many telematics system is possible, the company says, allowing the fleet manager the capability of monitoring all tires in his fleet.
