Fontaine Fifth Wheel offers lightweight slide bracket

Fontaine Fifth Wheel's LWB lightweight slide bracket assembly replaces its ATB slide. Lighter than its predecessor, the LWB bracket's smaller footprint uses steel reinforcement in key areas to avoid sacrificing capacity or strength.

Fontaine Fifth Wheel’s LWB lightweight slide bracket assembly replaces the manufacturer’s ATB slide. Lighter than its predecessor, the manufacturer notes, the LWB bracket’s smaller footprint uses steel reinforcement in key areas to avoid sacrificing capacity or strength.

Other features of the LWB, according to Fontaine, include a Quad-Lock four-point locking system that increases the locking surface area to provide greater stability and improved wear characteristics, two-inch increment positioning for greater versatility and improved payload distribution, and a greaseless bracket liner that offers consistent lubrication, reduces wear and lowers maintenance costs.

The LWB accepts a variety of Fontaine No-Slack top plates, including model 6000 stamped steel, model 7000 cast steel and model 7000CC cast steel, low-lube. The LWB is rated up to 55,000 lbs. vertical load and has a 150,000-lb. drawbar pull rating.
