PlastiKote introduced a new product—PlastiKote Rust Converter—to combat the spreading of rust on a vehicle. PlastiKote Rust Converter gets rid of rust and prepares the surface for painting, according to the company.
“With winter weather upon us, any rust spot on a vehicle will only get worse if not taken care of quickly and properly,” said Katie Whiting, product manager, aerosols for Valspar. “PlastiKote Rust Converter removes rust fast so it can be painted with a premium PlastiKote product.”
PlastiKote noted that users should sand the surface they want to paint before applying PlastiKote Rust Converter as this step will provide a smooth end result. Once applied, PlastiKote Rust Converter organically converts rust to an iron-hard paintable surface. Once painted, there is no bleed-through staining of subsequent top coat paints, according to the manufacturer. PlastiKote Rust Converter is available in both eight and 16-oz. bottles.
