TMW, RMIS announce software integration

TMW and Registry Monitoring Insurance Services (RMIS) have announced a new software partnership. RMIS’s compliance management services and technologies will now be integrated into TMW.Suite, TMW’s transportation management system (TMS) for asset-based, asset-light and freight brokerage transportation service providers, expanding the software’s capabilities.

TMW clients will be able to monitor carrier insurance information directly from a module that is available to purchase within TMW.Suite, which will be available to TMW clients who are also RMIS customers.

RMIS noted that it tracks 95% of today’s active motor carriers in the transportation industry, which means TMW.Suite users will have access to the majority of Certificates of Insurance on file for the carriers they are looking to hire. If a certificate for a given trucking company is unavailable, RMIS has the resources to obtain it quickly. And by entering company-specific regulations into the system, users can ensure that carriers are insured in a way that specifically lines up with their business rules, the company added.

“This new capability within TMW.Suite will make it easier for our customers to obtain access to carrier insurance status,” said Scott Vanselous, TMW’s executive vice president of marketing and strategy.

In addition to the new functionality offered by RMIS, TMW has added the Operating Status field to the Carrier Comprehensive Safety Analysis (CSA) Inquiry process. RMIS will supply the Department of Transportation (DOT) operating status values in this field and will support the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) operating status from DOT as those changes are published.

When receiving an update from RMIS regarding an Out of Service notification for a carrier, expirations will be logged for the carrier so that they are no longer available in other parts of TMW.Suite to plan loads/trips. This functionality is available from both the Carrier CSA Inquiry menu as well as the Carrier Profile.

Tabs in the Carrier CSA Profile window are now color coded as information is returned from RMIS. For example, if a document for the carrier is available through the service, the Document tab will now highlight in green, identifying to the user that there is data available for review.
