Dealing with EV range anxiety

Dealing with EV range anxiety

The restless bouncing leg. The tapping of a pen on a desk top. The inexplicable urge to constantly calculate route lengths. These are all signs of EV range anxiety, the sinking feeling that your commercial vehicle will crawl to a stop in mid-transport, leaving you with a delayed load and a hefty towing bill.

But there’s help. With the right partners and planning, you can conquer your range anxiety and have the confidence that your electric trucks can deliver loads in applications that they’re suited for, namely shorter routes, under 150 miles, and last-mile or regional-haul duty cycles. To draw a parallel to the diesel trucks you’re currently management, you can equate EV range to “fuel” efficiency, to some degree. The same factors that impact your diesel fuel efficiency, such as driver behavior, can impact your range.

For more on how you can plan EV routes in order to meet your job demands and work within range limits, watch the video above.
