The truck service benefits of data integration

The way we’ve compacted a lot of daily tools into one easy to use device has made such an impact for people with busy lives. The convenience of having everything you need at your fingertips allows for us an efficient way of getting things done.

When it comes to fleet operations, it is no different. Having an abundance of tools and information to help you make informed decisions regarding operations, maintenance and safety acts as an invaluable asset to the way you run things.

The data running off of trucks and trailers is abundant to say the least.

Multiple different dashboards with completely separate information will essentially do you no good unless you can see how it all fits together. In other words, combine your dashboards to maximize benefits from data sets. It’s easy to be overwhelmed, but the first step is to integrate your data points.

Speaking with service providers and OEMs regarding data integration will allow for an in depth look at your fleet, but it’s important to know what they offer before starting the process. The foreward looking dashboards compacted with applicable data will make it much easier to maintain swift operations.

So, just how is the current climate of OEMs and Third-Party providers’ integrations impacting remote diagnostics? Watch the video above to find out.

I'll play devil's advocate to: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"--it might not be broken, but could it be better? Sure, your tried-and-true truck spec has worked for you for years, but the latest trucks have model year generations of refinements built into them. Whenever an OEM unveils a new truck with improved fuel efficiency percentages, the rub is that they're comparing the brand-new spec to their previous "best spec". Chances are, as a fleet manager, you're not replacing the truck you bought last year. You're replacing a truck that's five or six years old (if your lifecycles have returned to pre-pandemic normal).
