Shell releases Rotella T6 10W-30 full synthetic engine oil

Triple Protection Plus represents protection against wear, deposits, and oil breakdown plus better fuel economy performance.

Shell Rotella has released its new T6 10W-30 full synthetic heavy duty engine oil with Triple Protection Plus Technology. The full synthetic oil, according to the company, delivers better wear protection compared to conventional and synthetic blend and improved fuel economy in the fastest growing viscosity grade for diesel-powered vehicles.

“Shell Rotella T6 10W-30 full synthetic is suitable for most modern low-emission heavy duty engines and older hard-working diesel engines,” said Julie Wright, North American brand manager for Shell Rotella. “This includes engines in Class 8 trucks, pickup trucks and vehicles used for construction, agriculture and leisure activities.”

According to Shell Rotella, benefits and features of T6 10W-30 include the following:

  • Triple Protection Plus giving protection against wear, deposits, and oil breakdown plus better fuel economy performance.
  • Enhanced fuel economy capability of up to 2%.
  • Increased protection against oxidation maintains fuel economy throughout the oil drain interval.
  • It exceeds CK-4 deposit requirements by 33%.
  • It has a pour point of -39°C.
  • The oil is 50% better than the industry standard at maintaining oil quality over the oil drain interval. 
  • It also provides 50% less wear than the industry standard.
  • Shell Rotella T6 10W-30 can be used in place of a 15W-40 engine oil in most instances.
