Yokohama Tire releases ‘extreme traction’ drive tire

Yokohama says it is suited for trucks running snowy and icy routes.

Yokohama Tire has launched the 907W truck drive tire. The company touts its “extreme traction” and says it is suited for trucks running snowy and icy routes.

The 907W, which replaces the SY767, carries the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol, which means it meets or exceeds the industry’s required performance criteria for severe snow service. It is available now in the U.S. in three sizes: 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5 and 11R24.5.

“The new 907W offers significantly longer tread life and better performance in the snow,” said Tom Clauer, Yokohama’s senior manager of commercial product planning. “With a deeper tread and rugged new compound, fleets can expect to get reliable snow traction and powerful snow braking for multiple winter seasons.”

Benefits of the 907W include highlighted by the company:

  • The tire’s 27/32-inch tread depth provides longer lasting snow performance and longer original tread life. Its compound resists scrubbing, cutting and chipping, and the combination blocks combat heel/toe wear to enhance traction.
  • Power ribs with 3D sipes provide firm ground contact and improved ice and snow performance. Additionally, the four zig-zag grooves allow for efficient water evacuation while providing enhanced radial and lateral traction in the most extreme weather conditions.

The 907W is backed by Yokohama’s seven-year unlimited retread casing warranty.

Why fuel filtration science matters

Fleetguard shares the story of filtration science leading to a biodiesel solution with a seven-time increase in performance.

Biodiesel consumption accelerated and feedstocks rapidly changed in 2022 as a result of an unanticipated shift in governmental policies that encouraged the consumption of biodiesel. In addition, geopolitical events limited supplies of conventional ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD).

Driving the consumption of these non-standard blends were governmental policies in many regions that required biodiesel consumption or encouraged it with financial incentives. In other regions, the impact of the war in Ukraine and other political instabilities constricted supplies of conventional fossil diesel.
