Phillips Industries announce tractor-trailer connectivity solution

The Phillips EC47 was developed in partnership with O’Neil Components.

Phillips Industries introduced the EC47 tractor/trailer connectivity solution. The EC47 includes two Ethernet connectors, two CAN networks, 4-AUX connections and seven-way J560 power connection. Phillips says the design aligns with the recommendations of the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Future Truck and Trailer Interface Task Force. No adapters are required, as the EC47 interfaces with present-day J560 components.

The company notes that the Phillips EC47 was developed in partnership with O’Neil Components. The design draws inspiration from the original O’Neil connector, in the logging sector for its supplementary AUX pins and SAE J560 adaptability, and the connector and socket housings are fully compatible with current J560 components, according to the press release. Additionally, the company notes that the cross-over ability allows them to work interchangeably, without additional adapterss.
