Renewable Lubricants releases hydraulic fluid with higher flash point

Using bio-based, environmentally friendly hydraulic fluids can eliminate the fines and speed the cleanup.

Renewable Lubricants recently introduced Bio-Ultimax 1000, a biosynthetic formula designed to replace mineral oil-based hydraulic fluids. With a flash point of 450°F, the company says that this lubricant provides a significant safety margin, particularly in situations where hydraulic hoses may rupture and release hot fluids into the engine compartment.

The company notes that Bio-Ultimax 1000 is available in various weights, including ISO 32, 46, 68, and 100. The company says that they are suited for systems with pressures up to 10,000 PSI, and in setups incorporating ultra-fine filtration

Field studies and accelerated pump tests have demonstrated minimal wear when using biobased formulations in various pump types and under pressures and temperatures ranging from 2000 to 3000 PSI and from 150°F to 210°F, according to the press release. The anti-wear performance surpasses requirements for U.S. Steel 126, 136, and 127, as well as load stage 10 in the FZG (DIN 51354) and GM (LS-2) standards, Renewable Lubricants notes.
