Stemco Motor Wheel becomes a lightweight supplier to Freightliner, Western Star

Stemco Motor Wheel announced its CentriFuse lightweight brake drum is now a premium published option for certain Freightliner and Western Star trucks models.

CentriFuse lightweight brake drums are designed for weight-sensitive applications to increase payload or fuel efficiency. The 16.5- x 8.62-in. CentriFuse drum now available weighs 100 lbs., which is the lightest brake drum in the industry for that specification, according to the company.

“Stemco Motor Wheel is looking forward to our future with Freightliner Trucks and Western Star Trucks,” says Morie Myers, Stemco vice president of OE and Asia Pacific. “Stemco Motor Wheel products have been recognized as industry leaders in fuel efficiency and reliability. This is a very exciting partnership.”
