New Raybestos brake and chassis products for many late-model foreign name plate and domestic applications have been added, bringing the total number of new and carried-up brake and chassis applications since late January 2011 to 26,904.

WABCO supplies new heavy-duty air disc brakes to MAN

The company began deliveries of new NG22MAX air disc brakes for heavy duty truck applications in Europe to MAN, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of commercial vehicles and diesel engines. Weighing only 86 lbs. including brake pads, it is the lightest air disc brake of its kind, allowing trucks to increase payload and improve fuel economy while also reducing maintenance and service costs.

ESCO introduces new Brake Safe

The company’s new product helps drivers and fleets comply with CSA 2010 by offering a simple, accurate and effective means of providing a visual of air-brake stroke travel. The Brake Safe system is available in two universal formats: one to fit all power unit steering and drive axles, and a second to fit all trailer axles.

Bendix expands air disc brake manufacturing

Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake LLC plans to open a new production line at its Bowling Green, Ky., manufacturing plant in June to meet increased demand for its patented Bendix ADB22X air disc brakes. With a nearly 120% increase in demand from 2009 to 2010 and an expected additional increase of nearly 40% in 2011, the new production line will help BSFB continue to meet the needs of OEMs, fleets and owner-operators.

Hunter’s new rotor lathe for heavy-duty brake service

The company’s new OCL430HD rotor lathe improves medium- and heavy-duty service by machining the rotor on the vehicle. This eliminates the need to disassemble the hub to remove the rotor, saving time and effort; it also reduces runout, providing a more precise cut and extending the life of expensive rotors. With a reinforced cutting arm and rugged tool holders, the OCL430HD resurfaces rotors up to 17.5 in. in diameter and up to 3.5 in. in thickness.

Stemco acquires Rome Tool & Die Co.

The business, which is the leading supplier of new brake shoes to the U.S. aftermarket, will become part of the brake products group of Stemco. The company will now be able to combine brake shoes with Stemco Duroline brake pads to offer a completely lined brake shoe kit to fleet operators.
