Used truck sales fell month-over-month and year-over-year in April according to ACT Research Co. This ended what had been an upward trend for used Class 8 sales so far this year. This information comes from the latest State of the Industry: U.S. Classes 3-8 Used Trucks report from ACT.
“April Class 8 used truck volumes fell by 3% month-over-month and year-over-year, ending their upward trek, while YTD declines continued for a fourth consecutive month, down 4% from April 2015,” said Steve Tam, ACT’s Vice President-Commercial Vehicle Sector. “Dealers are reporting that used truck sales remain below 2015 levels and inventories have risen, while used truck prices continue to drop. The average price of used Class 8 trucks improved by 4% month-over-month during the same period, but remained 8% lower when compared to April of 2015.”
