Yokohama Tire has introduced the 124R and 505C all-position tires, which are now available in the U.S. The tires meet the industry’s required performance criteria for severe snow service and carry the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol on the sidewall. The 124R radial tire is designed for regional pick-up and delivery fleets and comes in nine sizes, ranging from 17.5 to 22.5. inches. It carries a six-year unlimited retread casing warranty on all 17.5-inch and 19.5-inch sizes and a seven-year warranty on all 22.5-inch sizes.
Benefits of the 124R, according to the company, include year-round traction in wet and snowy conditions; extended tread life; and rock shield platforms that guard against stone and debris.
Yokohama said the 505C is engineered for on/off-highway trucks and is offered in three sizes (385/65R/22.5, 425/65R/22.5 and 445/65R/22.5).
The 505C carries a six-year three retread casing warranty. Benefits of the 505C, according to the company, include a new tread pattern; and all-weather grip for mud and snow; and funnel-shaped step grooves that prevent stones and other debris from reaching the bottom of the groove where casing damage can occur.
