Peterson introduces new LumenX S/T/T light with integrated back-up lamp

Peterson Manufacturing has expanded their innovative LumenX LED line with a S/T/T light featuring an integrated back-up lamp. Dubbed a “cyclops style” by Peterson design engineers, the new model embeds a small white lens within the main red LumenX lens, allowing one of the seven diodes to provide DOT-legal back-up functionality — a true two-in-one lighting concept.

All LumenX Series lights from reds to ambers to back-ups feature the latest white-diode LEDs and breakthrough optics engineered to fully illuminate the entire lens — no “hot spots” or “dead zones” regardless of viewing angle, according to the company. Project engineer, John Hansen, credits the LumenX design for making the new two-in-one footprint achievable. “The idea of integrating a white back-up light into a red lamp was a feasible extension of the LumenX architecture,” he said. “Of course, turning innovative concepts into brand-worthy Peterson products takes high expertise every step of the way.”

According to Steve Meagher, vice president-sales, Peterson’s unique vertical integration drives the company’s success in innovating lighting solutions such as this new LumenX model. “We have the right team and all the right tools to design, engineer, test, tool and manufacture new products here at our 44-acre corporate campus in Grandview,” said Meagher. “Constant collaboration allows us to bring new products like the LumenX line to market quickly. And with our automated manufacturing technology, we can build ‘Proudly Made in USA’ quality at very attractive prices.”

Like other models in Peterson’s LumenX LED Series, the new two-in-one lights are available in standard 4-in. round and 6-in. oval footprints, with grommet or flange mounting options. When used in pairs, the new two-in-one lights meet DOT requirements in any orientation. “They’re yet another of our Solutions on the Move,” Meagher said.
