Chevin: Fleet management software adoption on the rise

According to Chevin Fleet Solutions, fleet software is increasingly being used for non-fleet processes thanks to its flexibility and ease of integration with other systems. Fleet management software can often be the best tool available for a businesses to leverage data and eliminate manual and redundant error prone processes. Senior Vice President, Ron Katz, said: “Sometimes, a new process that may be required within an organization may involve the fleet, but may not really be a purely fleet management function. An example of this might be invoice reconciliation of external vendor invoices with the company’s accounts system. However, there are even more imaginative uses available to an organization, especially when it comes to the use of mobile devices, such as using smartphones or tablets to record proof of delivery, or as a means to generate a quote or record sales from the field.”

Katz pointed to enterprise fleet management solutions such as Chevin’s FleetWave, which can be easily used to create and drive processes of this kind, and businesses are increasingly using our software’s uniquely flexible capabilities to streamline process.

Katz added that, as an example, sales recorded in the field could be immediately invoiced to customers through the software using invoicing tools that already exist as part of the system. Billing originally designed for fleet specific areas such as vehicle parts and billable repairs, with small tweaks allow the system to function and support wider areas of business operations.

“Often when the capabilities of our software become fully recognized within an organization, broader business processes can be consolidated into our enterprise solution. Ultimately, software such as FleetWave can be used to deliver analytics and reports from any area of a business, it’s just a matter of how far an organization wants to take the system.”

Ron said that this trend is becoming more popular as our fleet software often integrates with more internal systems than many existing IT systems. As the fleet system often is already integrated with financial, accounts payable and HR system – it’s only natural to leverage these capabilities when new more efficient processes are needed.”
