How truck equipment suppliers are shifting support capabilities

How suppliers are shifting support capabilities

Adaptation continues to be a key ability in navigating the Coronavirus pandemic. If your fleet operation spans several states, you’re having to juggle shifting regulations and practices as some states begin to reopen, but social distancing is here to stay for everyone. For suppliers that are used to working hand-in-hand with customers to solve equipment service issues, distance poses a challenge to hands-on training and troubleshooting.

For an idea of how suppliers are adapting, I connected with Kent Jones, SAF-Holland, president—Americas. Kent has done his fair share of adapting since taking the reins at SAF-Holland eight months ago. Navigating a new position during an NACV last year and catching up on new product and technology developments is a full plate for anyone, not to mention leading during a pandemic, but as our conversation shows, Kent is a quick study, and doesn’t waste time in getting to work. Check out the video above for a look inside SAF-Holland’s approach to pandemic response to keep its customers rolling productively.

Before the new normal

I had the chance to sit down with Kent last November for our January Executive Interview story. You can catch up on that here:
