Slaying truck service challenges with the right software

Trucks are mighty computer-controlled, material-moving mammoths. When a monster of a monster problem rears its ugly head, it’s time for your service department to slay it and get your rolling iron back on the road. Of all the tools in your valiant technician’s quiver, the right scan tool software is one of the most important and easily overlooked.

Software doesn’t sound exciting, but giving new functionality to the tools your truck service pros are already using should. Many repair diagnostics solutions providers will update their software several times a year to keep up with the rapidly evolving computer-controlled landscape. You’re likely seeing fault codes that vary in severity, from yellow to red, on a near-daily basis, but what do they mean and what’s the fix? That’s where the scan tool software comes into play.

For a deeper look at the additional functionality software updates bring to scan tools and to pull back the curtain on how these updates are rolled out and utilized by fleets and shops, I talked with Jason Hedman, JPRO Product Manager, Noregon. Watch the video above for all of the insight.
