Kenworth receives Clean Energy Award from Clean and Prosperous Washington

Kenworth received the first annual David and Patricia Giuliani Clean Energy Entrepreneur Award, presented by Washington Governor Jay Inslee on behalf of Clean and Prosperous Washington, during an event held at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. Kenworth was honored for its “Driving To Zero Emissions” program that features the Class 8 Kenworth T680E, Class 7 K370E and Class 6 K270E battery electric vehicles, along with PACCAR Parts charging stations. A Kenworth T680E on display was assembled at the nearby Kenworth manufacturing plant in Renton, Washington.

The award is named for the late David Giuliani – founder of Clean & Prosperous Washington – and his spouse Patricia Giuliani. Clean & Prosperous Washington is a project of the Washington Business Alliance.

The Kenworth T680E is designed for pickup and delivery, regional haul and drayage applications, and is available in a day cab configuration as either a tractor or straight truck. The T680E has an 82,000 lb. gross vehicle weight rating and an estimated 150-mile operating range, depending on the application.

The K270E and K370E cabovers are designed for pickup and delivery and short regional haul operations. The electric powertrain is available with high-density battery packs of 141 kWh, 209 kWh, and 282 kWh that deliver up to 100-, 150- and 200-mile range, respectively, with zero emissions.

PACCAR Parts electric vehicle (EV) charging stations maximize coverage over a full range of Kenworth electric vehicles, with output power from 20 kilowatts (kW) to 350 kW.
