Truck stories we’re thankful for

Thankful for the road more traveled

Jason Morgan, content director: From product launches to trade shows to conferences, trucking industry travel was back this year. It was fantastic to catch up with old friends, meet new faces and forge the connections that make the trucking industry so special and strong. Here are a few of my favorite on-location videos from this year.

Thankful for the unexpected

Tess Lovrak, associate editor: Admittedly, the heavy-duty industry is not where I expected myself to land post-graduation–I’m so grateful that I was wrong. This year brought a lot of firsts in my career, but there were two opportunities that stood out among the rest.

The first time I climbed aboard a heavy-duty truck was in Albuquerque, NM. Here, I got to experience the innovative pioneering of Torc Robotics. While on-site, we hit the highway in a self-driving Freightliner Cascadia–check it out!

Thankful for environmental innovation

This makes for the second official time I had the opportunity to hop into a cab of a Class 8 truck, only this time, I was behind the wheel. Out in Las Vegas, I got to put International’s S13 integrated powertrain technology to the test.

“Are you nervous?” said the truck’s attendant from the passenger seat.

“No, but you should be!” I said, eagerly awaiting direction.

After just a couple of laps around the racetrack, the performance of International’s technology was apparent and impressive.
