Terresolve introduces Biobased Multifunctional Diesel Fuel Treatment

Terresolve has introduced Bio FHD-30, a Farm Bill-compliant, biobased multifunctional diesel fuel treatment.

Terresolve has introduced Bio FHD-30, a Farm Bill-compliant, biobased multifunctional diesel fuel treatment. Bio FHD-30 is an ashless, biobased diesel fuel additive that has been tested both in the field and in the lab. It can be used in petroleum diesel fuel as well as all blends of biodiesel from B-100 to B-0. It is 80 percent biobased and meets federal definition of “biobased” as addressed in the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act (Farm Bill), said the company. It is renewable, helping to reduce dependence on foreign oil and supporting the US agricultural market. Terresolve reports that Bio FHD-30 is greater than 65 percent biodegradable based on test of primary and ultimate biodegradability, and in the event of a leak or spill into the environment, it will rapidly breakdown.

Bio FHD-30 improves the performance of diesel engines whether they use diesel or biodiesel fuel the company said. Specifically, it increases fuel lubricity, which extends the life of fuel system components including the fuel pump and injectors. It increases energy efficiency and reduces fuel consumption. It also helps to control diesel engine emissions by increasing cetane number, and enhancing burnability. Bio FHD-30 improves cold temperature performance of diesel and B-20 biodiesel and also has proven its performance in the stringent requirements of the Cummins N14 Corrosion/Erosion (ASTM D-665A), Cummins L-10, Peugeot XUD9 and the Scuffing/BOCLE (ASTM D-6078).

Terresolve Technologies, a Cleveland-based company, is dedicated to providing non-toxic, biodegradable lubricating products that deliver exceptional performance.
