Dometic Automotive is expanding its line of truck refrigerators and freezers with a new under-bunk refrigerator unit, the CD-30. With a convenient slide-out drawer, the unit is designed to fit beneath the bunk or any other out-of-the-way location, such as a closet or shelf. It provides over 1 cu. ft. of interior space, according to its maker.
“Last year, we developed an under-bunk refrigerator specifically for Freightliner as a factory option for new Cascadia trucks,” said Lou Siegel, senior vice president of strategic development, Dometic Automotive. “The product was so well received that we are now introducing a similar model for the trucking OEM and aftermarket sectors.”
The compact CD-30 unit is just 9.8 in. high, 17.5 in. wide and 28.25 in. deep, and weighs 39.7 lbs. It runs on standard 12- or 24-volt DC power. The unit has a rugged steel exterior with durable protective coating, and the polystyrene interior is easy to clean and maintain, Dometic said. The dependable DC-powered Danfoss compressor is designed for long life under the toughest over-the-road conditions. The refrigerator has an oversized condenser that protects against compressor overheating and built-in low-voltage and high-pressure cutout circuits for extra protection.
