Citgo Lubricants introduces Pacemaker LFG LA 40 Gas Engine Oil, which the company said is a superior low-ash, low-phosphorus oil that is designed for high-output, 4-cycle natural gas engines operating on landfill or digester gas.
The lubricant is specifically formulated for new BMEP high-performance engines, which produce almost twice the amount of electrical power generation over previous designs. The revolutionary oil has been field-tested to extend drain intervals from 800 hours up to 1200 hours, which increases the run time of the engines before major overhauls, significantly decreasing the downtime and overall maintenance costs of machinery, Citgo said.
Designed to minimize combustion chamber deposits, the components promote:
• Longer engine life by providing superior anti-scuff and anti-wear performance and reducing valve-train wear and recession
• Exceptional piston, ring and liner wear control
• Excellent base retention
• Increased production time and decreased downtime
• Compatibility with gas engines equipped with catalytic converters
“The natural gas engines being used in the landfill industry have become more technically advanced,” said Don Banister, product manager, Citgo Lubricants. “No other oil is specifically formulated for these higher BMEP engines like Citgo’s Pacemaker LFG LA 40.”
Pacemaker LFG LA 40 is suitable for a wide range of engines operating in landfill and digester gas, such as Caterpillar, Waukesha, Jenbacher, Deutz and Cummins, the company said.
