Clore releases battery charger for diesel engine reprogramming

Clore Automotive has introduced model PL6800, a 12-volt 100A flashing power supply and 100/40/10A battery charger from SOLAR.

The PL6800, according to Clore, is built to provide stable power on demand up to 100 amps to a vehicle electrical system to support module reprogramming. The unit is also capable of providing full-service battery charging from 10 to 100 amps. It is designed to work with vehicle batteries from small to the multi-battery packs found in over-the-road vehicles.

Per Clore, “In power supply mode, the PRO-LOGIX PL6800 provides power to maintain vehicle electrical system voltage at a preset level, increasing its output in response to system load increases to maintain a stable power environment for successfully reprogramming.”

The device is also designed for specified servicing.

According to Clore, “It features a voltage output range of 13.1-14.9V, adjustable in 0.1V increments. allowing the operator to dial the output in exactly as specified by the supplier of the vehicle under service. It features fast load responsiveness for ultra-quick recovery from system demand increases. It also delivers its massive power with minimal voltage ripple, providing a clean flow of power to the vehicle without risk of programming interference.”

While in its charging mode, the model uses advanced microprocessor-controlled logic to create a fully automatic charging routine optimized for charging and maintaining each battery it services.

The unit is capable of charging a variety of lead acid battery types.

According to Clore, “With a maximum charge rate of 100A, it can bring even severely depleted four-battery and eight-battery packs back to full charge quickly and effectively. The PL6800 adapts its charging approach based on the needs of each battery or battery pack it services.”

FlowBelow Aero, Inc., has introduced its new AeroFender, a device that is equipped to truck wheels and reduces drag on day- and sleeper-cabs. FlowBelow tells us that the AeroFender improves fuel efficiency by re-directing the airflow ahead of and around a power unit’s leading drive axle.

At a controlled track test completed in November 2023 by Mesilla Valley Transportation Solutions, FlowBelow says its technology was proven to save 1.49 gallons of fuel for every 1,000 miles driven, or 1.44% overall. The company says that fleets can expect a truck equipped with an AeroFender and traveling 125,000 miles per year to save an estimated 187 gallons of fuel and approximately 4,207.5 lbs. of CO2.
