ConocoPhillips Co. announced development of a new premium synthetic blend diesel engine oil, Kendall Super-D XA (Exhaust Advantage).
The oil was formulated to meet the American Petroleum Institute (API) and U. S. Original Equipment Manufacturer’s (OEM) new API CJ-4 specification requirements for the 2007 low-emission diesel engines equipped with exhaust after-treatment devices. It also will provide enhanced performance and protection for older engines requiring service under the previous specifications, the company said.
Kendall Super-D XA meets the performance requirements of both API CJ-4 and CI-4/CI-4 Plus specifications and is backwards serviceable for engine protection in pre-2007 engines specifying lubrication under the previous categories, the company said.
The oil was created from advanced low sulfated ash, phosphorus, and sulfur technology, which offers advanced protection for the life and performance of exhaust after-treatment devices in 2007 engines, without compromising protection in older engines, the company said.
Kendall Motor Oil will continue to offer its heritage diesel engine oils, Kendall SHP Diesel Engine Oil and Super-D 3 Diesel Engine Oil, which meet the previous API CI-4 PLUS specification.
