The truck experts at Kenworth Truck Co. have some suggestions for keeping trucks running and on the road as warmer weather approaches.
Here’s what they recommend:
•Check to see if the air conditioner stops cooling at idle or when waiting at a stoplight.
•Visually check the hoses, clamps and the drive belt for cracks or holes.
•Clean the air conditioning condenser. You’ll find it in front of the radiator on most trucks. Because it transfers heat from the cab to the outside, you want to be sure the air flow is not restricted by a build-up of insects or other debris. It’s a good idea to keep an eye on the condenser throughout the summer, since it’s prime bug season!
If you find any of these are problems, you’ll want to take your truck to your dealer.
