Hellwig releases new Pro Series helper springs for Silverado, Sierra pickups

Hellwig Suspension Products has released its newest Pro Series Helper Springs for the 2019-2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks.

The Pro Series Helper Springs allow the truck to maintain a level ride height when hauling or towing, the company says.

The Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 trucks are available with several powerplant, chassis and trim options; each of these configurations utilizes the same rear leaf spring pack. To improve the truck’s towing and hauling capabilities, Hellwig Products says it developed its Pro Series Helper Springs, which provide additional rear-end support.

The new Hellwig Pro Series Helper Springs for the Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 (P/N 61917) replaces the previous model (P/N 61912) and is now compatible with all trim levels. This two-leaf helper pack is adjusted and rated for up to 2,500 lbs. of load-leveling capability, which allows the driver to tune the spring rate to match the load they are towing or hauling. The Pro Series kit features silent ride bushings, offering quiet load support. If the load is unevenly distributed, owners can adjust each side individually to level the vehicle from left to right. With the Pro Series Helper Springs installed, the company says the truck can transport heavier loads while maintaining a level stance to improve safety, handling, braking and tire wear compared to the stock leaf springs.

Hellwig’s Pro Series Helper Springs for the GM 1500 can be installed with hand tools and come with all necessary parts and hardware. Hellwig helper springs are made in the U.S. and come with a lifetime warranty on all steel parts.
