K-Line Coolant Management Tool saves time, reduces waste

The Coolant Management Tool drains, pressure tests and refills coolant systems simply and cleanly, saving time, reducing or eliminating air pockets, and contributing to environmentally green shop initiatives. It also prevents the unwanted mixing of coolant types. The tool includes a 20-gal. tank and cart assembly on wheels, a coolant reservoir cap adapter, a vacuum module and a pressure module.

K-Line Industries, a supplier of OEM and Dealer Special Tools, has introduced its new Coolant Management Tool for fleet maintenance shops and truck maintenance facilities. The tool drains, pressure tests and refills coolant systems simply and cleanly, saving time, reducing or eliminating air pockets, and contributing to environmentally green shop initiatives. It also prevents the unwanted mixing of coolant types, according to the company.

The Coolant Management Tool includes a 20-gal. tank and cart assembly on wheels, a coolant reservoir cap adapter, a vacuum module and a pressure module. After the tool is attached to the truck cooling system, clean dry shop air is utilized to “blow” coolant out of the system and into the Coolant Management Tool tank. With the system empty, the necessary repairs can be made and pressure checked before the cooling system is refilled. The coolant is then replaced into the system using the vacuum module to draw coolant back into the tank, reducing or eliminating air pockets. Throughout the procedure, there are virtually no spills, no waste and no chance of mixing coolant types, the company said.

The tool was designed to reduce the time required to drain and refill cooling systems, minimize or eliminate air pocket formation, prevent the unwanted mixing of coolant types, and to reduce waste and spills, the company added.
