Visiting Noregon’s booth the TMC 2924 Annual Meeting, I was told that the goal of a partnership the company announced with ZF is to connect both tractor and trailer telematics, as well as view easy-to-read data all in one place. Noregon says this collaboration–which started between Noregon and Wabco in 2018 prior to ZF acquiring Wabco in 2020–helps fulfill the two organizations’ goal of providing fleets with diagnostic solutions and insights.
“We have worked closely with ZF for many years and look forward to our continued involvement through this agreement,” said Bill Hathaway, executive chairman at Noregon. “We will continue to pair our diagnostic expertise with ZF’s advanced technology to help meet our shared vision of providing fleets, OEMs, and service providers with the means to improve the health, safety, and performance of their tractors and trailers.”
According to Noregon, an initial phase of this agreement will allow the company to utilize ZF’s SCALAR platform to incorporate smart trailer data into its TripVision remote diagnostic application. Noregon says This integration will enable fleets to monitor tractors and trailers in real-time from the same application, with access to the necessary information to quickly make impactful maintenance decisions The company adds that ZF’s experience allows the inclusion of insights into proprietary braking system data and associated repair instructions.
“We’re excited to continue our work with Noregon to add further value for our shared OE and fleet customers who have entrusted us as technology leaders,” said Benjamin Brown, vice president key account management, head of trailer & digital sales, ZF Group. “Our combined expertise and resources will help to simplify some of the most complex issues within the commercial vehicle space.”
