The proof is in the data: How fleets can use data to their advantage

Sheer data is no good to you on its own. You need to understand what you can do with it, and the ways in which it can help your fleet.

Today’s average fleet has an absolute ton of data streaming off of all of their trucks. But sheer data is no good to you on its own. You need to understand what you can do with it, and the ways in which it can help your fleet.

I had a chance to talk to Steven White, associate vice president of commercial enterprise sales at Geotab, right when his company was coming off a bevy of announcements at its Geotab Connect event in Las Vegas. He talked to us about nuclear verdicts, forward-facing and driver-facing cameras, and more ways fleets can effectively use their data.

Watch the video above to see what he had to say.

Communication is so important when it comes to truck service. Whether your fleet works with an independent shop or dealer or has its own shop, the goal when a truck needs a repair is the same for all parties involved: a quick, efficient repair done right. For you, time your truck spends in the shop bay is time it could be running its route; for the shop, time your truck spends in the bay is time another truck could be in that bay, so it benefits everyone to move quickly.
